If the deceased has left a will then it should appoint one or more people to act as Executors. The Executors will need to apply to the Probate Registry for a Grant of Representation known as a Grant of Probate. The value of the deceased’s assets will determine what papers need to be submitted in order to obtain the Grant of Probate and if inheritance tax will be payable.
